Celtic are reportedly scouting Swedish central defender Viktor Eriksson. The Swedish Internationalist is expected to be in European action this for Hammarby against Charleroi. However, Celtic have sent Paul Tisdale to watch the player.
The report from Sun Sport claims that the Scottish Champions have sent their Head of Football Operations to watch the 24-year-old.
The report states that Hammarby will entertain offers around £2m for the player. This would certainly appeal to Celtic but it’s whether the Swede fits in with Brendan’s style of play and if there is a role for him with the Scottish Champions.
Celtic will add Man City youngster Simpson-Pusey to their ranks as Brendan looks to add quality to the backline. Stephen Welsh is the subject of interest from Plymouth while Dane Murray may be earmarked for a temporary switch to ensure he is playing regularly.
Celtic’s focus in the remaining month of the transfer window is to add attackers to the squad with the wide areas and up front in desperate need of reinforcements. Tisdale may be using his trip to Hammarby as an opportunity to scout a number of Scandinavian players, which appears to be the focus from Celtic this summer with Benji Nygren arriving in a £2m deal.
