It was a privilege to attend Celtic park last night as we put on an absolutely magnificent performance against a decent RB Leipzig side. In the end we were well worth the three points as we defeated the second placed Bundesliga side by three goals to one and it could have been an even bigger margin of victory.
It wasn’t just the result, but the manner of the performance. We weren’t at any stage apart from maybe a ten minute spell in the first half hanging on, we more than competed with the German side and blew them away with our football.

We were far superior in every department. We outfought them, and outplayed them, and in the end the 3-1 scoreline flattered the Bundesliga high-flyers.
Each and every one of our players deserve great credit. They didn’t put their heads down after going a goal down against the run of play. They showed great spirit and determination to get back into the game and put in a performance to earn a valuable three points.
Nicolas Kuhn was a major contributor to that with a brace in the first half to put us into a 2-1 lead heading into the break. The German winger is in the form of his life and will only get better.

Callum McGregor ran the show in the middle of the park and put in the best performance I’ve ever seen from him at this level against a top side. He never wasted a pass and dominated the midfield, it was true captain’s performance. Reo Hatate of course was also instrumental and rounded off a great performance by grabbing the vital third goal.

At the back I was very impressed with Auston Trusty who continues to impress. He was a colossal and doesn’t look out of place at this level. All the players looked so comfortable at this level and it was a joy to behold.
Brendan is cooking something very special here and it bodes very well for the future.
