Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an insight into the club’s plans to deal with the respective futures of midfield pair Toni Kroos, and Luka Modrić.
As things stand, both Kroos and Modrić are of course in line to depart Madrid in the summer.
As much comes ahead of the expiration of their respective contracts.
In the case of the former, it is widely understood that the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu have offered up a fresh one-year extension.
The case of Modrić, on the other hand, is altogether more unclear, amid contrasting claims when it comes to the Croatian’s place in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for next season.
Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s 5-0 drubbing of Alavés on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his veteran midfield pair’s futures was put to Real’s headmaster.
And, in his response, Ancelotti went on to reveal that Florentino Pérez and co. have pencilled in contract talks with both Kroos and Modrić, for early next month:
“The club will talk with Kroos and Modrić after the Champions League final.”
