The trio have all agreed new long-term deals at Turf Moor this month
While a lot of Burnley’s summer business was focused on trying to trim their bloated squad for the season ahead, the Clarets will be buoyed by the fact they have manage to tie down a number of key assets for the long-term.
The Lancashire outfit have secured the services of Maxime Esteve, Josh Cullen and Luca Koleosho for the foreseeable future after the trio all agreed deals over the international break, with all three likely to have big parts to play at Turf Moor in the years to come.
With Scott Parker looking to oversee an immediate return to the Premier League after their relegation from the top flight in the previous campaign, Burnley will be able to breathe knowing three of their standout stars will be there to help them in that journey.
The new and improved deals will also help the club with any bargaining that could arise in the future, with all three likely to attract interest if their current form is anything to go by.
Cullen was the first of the triumvirate to secure a new deal at Turf Moor, with the Irishman signing a new three-year deal with the club, with the option of a fourth year.
The 28-year-old has been a key figure in the middle of the park since moving from Anderlecht in 2022, having racked up 81 appearances and scored three goals in that time.
Speaking about the deal, Cullen told the club’s website: "It’s always good to commit your future to the club. A club that in the two years I’ve been here has really felt like home.
.
"I’m just eager now to get back to work this season and get the club back to where it belongs in the Premier League."
That commitment to the cause was echoed by Koleosho later in the week, with the teenager signing a five-year extension to his deal at Turf Moor, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029.
The new deal is just reward for the exciting prospect, who has already netted twice in the Championship so far this season, including the winner in Burnley’s 1-0 win against Leeds United at Elland Road last time out.
Having featured just 15 times in the Premier League last season, the 19-year-old has already proven what an exciting talent he is, and will become, with his early performances in the Football League, with the Clarets likely to benefit from his inclusion in the years to come.
With that long-term deal in place, the former Premier League side can command a hefty fee should any club be tempted into making a move in the future, with his early form likely to have caught the eye of one or two admirers already this season.
Koleosho wasn’t the only player to sign a five-year deal at Turf Moor over the past week, with Esteve following in his footsteps to also commit his future to the club for half a decade.
Having initially joined on loan from Ligue 1 side Montpellier in January, Esteve moved to Turf Moor permanently in the summer, before the club made the immediate decision to extend his deal in the north west.
Having represented France at youth level, the 22-year-old is a highly regarded defender, and has only enhanced that reputation with some stellar performances to begin the campaign, in which Burnley have only conceded three times.
With the Frenchman signing on the dotted line, the Clarets can rest assured knowing they have plenty of quality battened down for years to come, with a number of young stars likely to flourish at Turf Moor before too long.
After quite the overhaul in the summer, the commitment to the talented trio will be a welcome sight for Burnley fans, who will be hoping to see plenty more of their superstars in the years to come.
The news comes as a two-fold bonus for the Clarets, with the insurance of knowing that they can command respectable fees for their top names should they not achieve an immediate Premier League return this summer.
