So any Newcastle United fans travelling back on Sunday night will be affected.

British Transport Police will be at King’s Cross enforcing this.

Newcastle United fans have been receiving this message if booked on Sunday night trains heading back from Wembley:

‘We’re getting in touch because you’re booked to travel by train on 16 March 2025.

We are expecting services to be very busy on this date.

At the request of British Transport Police, and for a safe and enjoyable journey for all of our customers, LNER and other train companies will be operating an alcohol-free policy on all trains departing London King’s Cross from 19.30 until the end of the day on Sunday 16 March, including the train you are booked to travel on.

This means that alcohol cannot be brought onto or purchased onboard our trains.

British Transport Police and security teams will be at London King’s Cross during boarding of these trains and will request that any alcohol is disposed of. Additionally, alcoholic drinks will not be served as part of the complimentary food and drink offer in First Class.
