Vicky Losada is a free agent after her Brighton contract expired in July
Bristol City are in talks with former Brighton captain Vicky Losada, with the WSL2 side looking to sign the midfielder on a free transfer.
Vicky Losada was one of Brighton’s most reliable players during her tenure with the club.
The 34-year-old was named captain of the Seagulls while she was on the south coast, playing 47 times for the team over her two year spell.
Losada is a free agent this summer as her contract with Brighton expired in July.
As a veteran of the game, Losada’s experience could prove to be invaluable to Bristol City in the WSL2.
Although nothing is confirmed just yet the Robins are holding talks with Losada surrounding her future.
Before she was with Brighton Losada played for some of the top teams in Europe. The Spaniard graduated from Barcelona’s La Masia academy before spending seven years with the Catalan giants senior team.
Losada then went and played in the NWSL for a year before playing for Arsenal, Manchester City, Roma and finally Brighton.
Early in her career Losada was crowned La Liga champion on six occasions with Barcelona. Losada also won the Champions League with her childhood club on a second stint with the team in 2021.
Losada has made 65 appearances for Spain throughout her career, but she has also featured three times for the Catalonia national team.
Vicky Losada wouldn’t be the only experienced star that Bristol City have added to their ranks this summer.
Wales international Sophie Ingle joined the club at the beginning of August after leaving Chelsea at the end of last season.
The Robins have made five other signings on top of Ingle. Vera Jones also arrived from the Blues ahead of the new season
