Brighton host Manchester City on Sunday in a fascinating Premier League encounter, with manager Fabian Hürzeler looking to extend his personal unbeaten record against Pep Guardiola.

The Seagulls took four points off City last season and will be confident of causing another upset, especially after a thumping 6-0 midweek Carabao Cup win against the Championship side Oxford United.

Brighton team news

Fabian Hürzeler has confirmed he has no new injury worries after the 6-0 Carabao Cup win over Oxford United. However, he could be without Georginio Rutter, who is a doubt with a knock.

The team remains without the long-term injured trio of Adam Webster, Solly March, and Julio Enciso. The latter’s proposed move away from the club recently collapsed due to concerns over his fitness. Hürzeler is expected to recall his first-team regulars after rotating in midweek.

This means the youthful midfield pairing of Carlos Baleba and Yasin Ayari could return. The manager also confirmed there is no danger of Baleba leaving before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Brighton predicted Lineup

Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Wieffer, van Hecke, Dunk, De Cuyper; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, O’Riley, Mitoma; Welbeck.
