Brighton have announced they have come to an agreement with Watford for the transfer of João Pedro.
While the Seagull’s official announcement on Friday states the fee is undisclosed, it is understood to be in the region of £30 million pounds, nearly £10 million more than they spent on Enock Mwepu two years ago.
Pedro now joins on a five-year contract.
The 21-year-old Brazilian will depart Vicarage Road after four seasons which has seen the club yo-yo between the Premier League and the Championship. He has scored 24 goals in 109 appearances for Watford.
His arrival at the Amex Stadium looks set to kickstart a busy summer of comings and goings for Roberto De Zerbi’s men, with James Milner also being heavily linked with the club. At the same time, the likes of Moses Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister are sure to attract the attention of the so-called “Big 6.”
Pedro could be joining a Brighton side that will enjoy European football for the first time in their history and will be hoping to become the latest player to flourish in blue and white.
