Brentford could face a fight to hold onto Bryan Mbeumo, who is attracting interest from a host of Premier League rivals.

Mbeumo has been a key figure for Brentford since the club’s promotion to the Premier League and has returned 25 goals and 21 assists in 101 top-flight appearances.

The Frenchman’s form to start the new season has been impressive, with only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (7) having outscored Mbeumo over the first three games of the campaign (3).

Mbeumo excelled in the absence of Ivan Toney last season and is set to be tasked with replacing the latter’s goals in 2024/25, following Toney’s £40m sale to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli on transfer deadline day.

Liverpool, Arsenal among Mbeumo suitors

However, Thomas Frank’s team could soon face a fight to hold onto Mbeumo with HITC reporting that Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle are all tracking the right-winger.

Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea on deadline day but remain interested in a long-term option who can play from the right, while Aston Villa sold French winger Moussa Diaby to the Saudi Pro League in the summer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have made the signing of a right-sided forward a priority, while Liverpool are considering options as Mohamed Salah nears the end of his deal.

Mbeumo is contracted to Brentford until 2026, though the Bees have the option to extend the 25-year-old’s deal for a further season.
