Liverpool Feds of the FAWNL North have confirmed they will be playing their home matches at Everton’s Walton Hall Park for the coming season.
The ground was previously the home of Everton Women, who have since moved into Goodison Park.
It marks a new collaboration between the two clubs, and emphasises Everton’s commitment to supporting the development of the women’s football pyramid.
Feds were previously playing at the Jericho Lane Football Hub in Aigburth, a project developed by the Liverpol City Council, the Liverpool County Football Association and the FA.
“We’ve made so many happy memories at Jericho,” Feds manager Leanne Duffy told SheKicks.net, “and it will always have a special place in our hearts.
“But moving to Walton Hall Park is the start of an exciting new chapter for us. It’s a space we can truly call home and I’m confident it will give us the platform we need to enjoy even more success together.”
“I can’t put into words how excited I am for this new chapter at Walton Hall Park,” said club captain Chantelle Thompson. “Stepping out onto that pitch in our new home will be an incredible feeling for all of us. The team is excited to get going and we can’t wait to make even more unforgettable memories with our fans right by our side.”
The Toffees had already pledged to ensure Walton Hall Park continued as a hub for grassroots, community and development activity, with their men’s under-21s also playing there.
Now, Liverpool Feds will benefit from WSL facilities, an elite level pitch and enhanced player and fan facilities.
“The move to Walton Hall Park marks a significant milestone for Liverpool Feds,” said Liverpool Feds general manager Abby Pope in a statement. “It not only elevates our matchday experience for both our players, staff and fans but also strengthens the visibility of women’s football in Liverpool.
“This partnership reflects our ambition and belief in the power of collaboration to inspire the next generation of players and fans.
“We want to thank Everton for their collaboration and support in making this move possible, and we wish them every success as they begin their exciting new chapter at Goodison Park.”
Hannah Forshaw, Everton Women’s new chief executive, added: “This is an exciting time for Everton Women, as we begin our historic journey at Goodison Park. Partnering with Liverpool Feds reflects our wider commitment to championing women’s football across the city – from the grassroots to the elite game.
“By supporting a thriving local National League side and ensuring Walton Hall Park remains a hub of opportunity, we’re not only maximising elite-level pitch usage but also helping to inspire the next generation of players and fans.
“This collaboration is another demonstration of how we will be using our facilities at Everton to continue to play a leading role in the growth of women’s football.”
The ground is in the Walton area of the city, around a 20-minute drive from the city centre, and has a capacity of 2,200, including a 500-seat stand.
