Bernabei struggled to get match-time at Celtic

The Argentine has struggled to force his way into the Celtic first team since his £3.75 move from Argentine side Lanus in 2022, but has excelled brilliantly in the top flight of Brazilian football where he has been named in the team of the year due to his impressive performances.

The South American never really took the Scottish game and struggled to settle off the field due to a couple of controversial incidents, and now looks a more settled confident player back in his own continent.

€7 million transfer is imminent

It now looks ever likely he will end his time in Glasgow with the club reportedly receiving an impressive €7 million for his signature which a few months ago looked extremely unlikely.

That sort of money for a player who isn’t in the managers plans represents a terrific piece of business by the club. And it’s money that can be put to good use in other areas of the squad in what promises to be an interesting transfer window with Brendan Rodgers one again looking to shed numbers from his squad for players not in his plans while strengthening in keys areas, adding quality while reducing quantity.
