Brazilian football legend Cafu has expressed strong support for Carlo Ancelotti to become the new head coach of the Brazil national team amid speculation surrounding the Italian manager’s future at Real Madrid.

In an interview with MARCA, Cafu, who worked closely with Ancelotti during their time together at AC Milan, shared his admiration for the coach’s capabilities and discussed the potential for Ancelotti to take charge of the South American team.

“I had the opportunity to work with Ancelotti at Milan for five years, so I know very well what he is capable of in the shirt of the Brazilian national team,” Cafu said.

“Of course, I would like him to come to the national team. It would be great to see Ancelotti, if the CBF decides so, in charge of the Brazilian national team.”

Cafu’s comments come amid uncertainty about Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid, with speculation swirling about whether the Italian could make a move to coach Brazil.

Despite the rumours, Cafu remains positive about Ancelotti’s impact on Real Madrid, noting that the club’s global reputation remains strong.

“I see it very positively. It’s always Real Madrid, a feared team, a team that imposes.

‘They were eliminated from the Champions League, but it’s still a feared Real Madrid. It’s a Real Madrid that, next year, will almost certainly return in full force,” Cafu stated confidently.

Furthermore, Cafu also addressed the ongoing issue of racism in football, particularly in relation to Vinicius Jr., who has been a target of racial abuse during matches.

“We have to fight racism. It is a matter of education. We must educate people so they can live in a country with equality. And that’s what Vinicius has been trying to convey on the field, through football,” Cafu concluded.
