Brahim, Fran to start: Real Madrid predicted lineup against Girona | OneFootball

Estadio Montilivi will play host to a high intensity clash between Real Madrid and Girona in match day 16 of La Liga.

Los Blancos are desperate to secure a victory after the Bilbao loss so expect them to come out all guns blazing.

Here is how Real Madrid can lineup against Girona.

GK: Thibaut Courtois

Not the best game against Athletic Club. Due to injury he did not play against Girona last season but would be eager to keep a cleansheet against the home side – who have not scored against Real Madrid since April 2023.

No other option than to start him and yet again he will be challenged by the in form Bryan Gil who has recorded 4 assists this season. Hopefully not a tough day for him.

CB: Raul Asencio

Yet another start for the youngster whose importance at the club just continues to grow. After a good game against Bilbao, he would hope to keep his form but this time in a victory.

CB: Antonio Rüdiger

Has been solid this season and even seems to cause trouble for some sides going forward. He will be tasked to stop Stuani, who has been Girona’s leading goal scorer in the league.

LB: Fran García

Another start is on the cards for the Spaniard. This game is nicely built for him, considering the tactics employed by Girona. He may have a good time going forward and can exploit the places up front along with Mbappe.

CM: Luka Modric

Had an underwhelming cameo in the last match but is expected to make a start tonight, following a poor performance from Aurelien Tchouaméni. The veteran midfielder can do well and create chances up front since Girona does play a high line.

CM: Fede Valverde

That mistake was unlike Fede and he would be eager to forget about it and focus on this match. Needs to be at his best like he has this season. Will most probably play in a deeper role.

CM: Jude Bellingham

The Englishman will play on the left side again but hopefully Ancelotti keeps it simple with him and does not increase his workload by asking him to cover for other players. He enjoyed a good time against Girona last season, scoring 3 goals and recording an assist.

RW: Brahim Díaz

Real Madrid looked better with him on the pitch in the last match – and also most part of the season. But his great outings have mainly come as a substitute but the Moroccan would want to change that in this important match.

Can see him switch positions with Mbappe throughout the match but for the most part, the Brazilian will be the striker. Looked in good knick against Bilbao and would hope to have his name on the scoresheet tonight.

He just needs to keep things simple. Does not need to overdo stuff. The club and fans both are backing him but the fans can lose their patience quite easily. Needs to score goals in the next few games and show the world why Real Madrid were after him for so many years.
