Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach are starting to cement themselves as a respectable force in the Bundesliga this season but are struggling with consistency.

Mönchengladbach have failed to register two consecutive victories in the Bundesliga since late 2021, when they beat Wolfsburg and Dortmund in consecutive ties.

In their last outing, Gerardo Seoane's side lost 3-1 to Freiburg away at the Europa Park despite having a fairly even share of chances.

However, one positive this season has been the continued form of Tim Kleindienst who has eight goals in the league this season.

Alongside this, Gladbach have no trouble getting into shooting positions as they have registered the fourth most shots in the Bundesliga this season (173).

Ahead of the game against Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Gerardo Seaone said: “We know that at home Dortmund set up very dominantly at home, but away they have not shown this same dominance.”

Seaone is without Grant-Leon Ranos and Luca Netz due to injury. Florian Neuhaus is also a  doubt due to a thigh issue.

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have had a season of two tales, one of strength and promise in Europe and a different more troubled one in the Bundesliga.

In the Bundesliga, Dortmund have been mostly inconsistent like last season as they have failed to register back-to-back wins at all domestically.

However, their last result against Bayern Munich last weekend in the 1-1 draw gives Nuri Sahin's side a lot of hope and positiveness ahead of the game against Mönchengladbach.

Adding to this, their large spread of goals over multiple players means that they do not have a huge reliance on one player to score. Currently, Serhou Guirassy is Dortmund's top scorer in the league with six strikes.

In past duels against Saturday's opponents, Dortmund have had the upper hand as they've won four of the last five Bundesliga clashes and even won in April despite being brought down to ten men.

Ahead of Saturday's clash, Dortmund coach Nuri Şahin said: “The match on Saturday is very important for us. We want to end our inconsistency and get a victory over Gladbach.”

Team news

Karim Adeyemi is out with a hamstring injury and both Waldemar Anton and Filippo Mané are also injured.
