Last season’s Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund get their European campaign underway this evening against Club Brugge. It’s the first time the teams have played each other since November 2011 with Dortmund winning 3-0 both home and away.
After scoring a hat-trick for Germany U21s, Karim Adeyemi kept up his scoring run with a brace against Heidenheim last weekend. The 22-year-old forward also registered an assist and is expected to work his way into Julian Nagelsmann’s senior Germany squad for the October international break. Another performance tonight will surely cement that.
Nico Schlotterbeck will start in defence tonight after missing the game against Heidenheim through suspension. Other than that, Nuri Şahin confirmed that the only player absent with an injury is Gio Reyna, was picked up an injury while on international duty with the USA team.
Kjell Wätjen and Cole Campbell are also unavailable tonight after Şahin confirmed that they will play for the U19 team in the UEFA Youth League.
