There have been rumours around incomings and outgoings for the Trotters

Bolton Wanderers have already started to get some of their business done in the summer transfer window.

The Trotters have made three new signings for their first team so far. Centre-back Chris Forino and goalkeeper Luke Southwood have joined on free transfer from Wycombe Wanderers and Cheltenham Town respectively.

Meanwhile, attacker Klaidi Lolos has been signed from Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee. Even so, there is, of course, still plenty of time to go before the market closes on August 30th.

As a result, speculation continues to circle of potential business that could be done by the Trotters in the coming weeks, as they again look to push for promotion from League One this season.

Danny Armstrong bids rejected

As Evatt's side continue their search for more reinforcements, it appears as though one target they are pursuing is Danny Armstrong.

The winger has spent the last three seasons with Kilmarnock, scoring 23 goals and providing 26 assists in 118 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership side.

However, he now appears to be attracting attention from England, with reports claiming that Bolton have seen two bids for the 26-year-old worth around £400,000 rejected.

It is thought that a much higher bid would be needed to tempt Kilmarnock to part company with Armstrong, who is into the final year of his contract at Rugby Park. Even so, his current club are apparently still hopeful he will extend his deal, despite this interest from south of the border.

Paris Maghoma reunion ruled out

Paris Maghoma spent last season on loan with Bolton from Premier League side Brentford, and he certainly impressed for the Trotters.

The 23-year-old scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 50 appearances in all competitions for Evatt's side as they reached the League One play-off final.

As a result, many fans of the club have been keen to see the midfielder return for this season, although it now seems as though that will not be happening as things stand.

According to a report from The Bolton News, the Trotters have not made an approach to sign Maghoma since the end of the campaign. Indeed, it is expected that Brentford will instead look to send him out on loan to a club in the Championship for the 2024/25 season.

John Mousinho on Josh Dacres-Cogley links

In terms of outgoings, one Bolton player who looks set to be the subject of speculation this summer, is Josh Dacres-Cogley.

The right-back only joined the club last summer, signing on a two-year deal after his contract with Tranmere Rovers expired. He then went onto make 55 appearances last season, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

That is now generating speculation around his future, with journalist Alan Nixon claiming Portsmouth are keen on the 28-year-old, who it is said could be available for £500,000. However, it seems that move may be unlikely to happen as things stand.

When asked about his side's rumoured interest in the Bolton right-back, Portsmouth manager John Mousinho told The News: "The way we’ve dealt with these over the past six months is players like that who are contracted, we’re not going to comment on them either way whether there’s any link or not. In Josh’s case he’s a fantastic player who was brilliant last year, but there’s nothing in it from us."
