Teams at the top of the 2024-25 Roshn Saudi League have scooped the competition’s November awards, with Laurent Blanc and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic among those recognised.
A summer arrival to the RSL, Blanc collected a second successive Coach of the Month award for another flawless four weeks for Al Ittihad, whose four wins from Matchweeks 10-13 ensured they entered the current winter break at the summit.
Perhaps most notably, the 2022-23 RSL champions defeated title rivals Al Nassr 2-1 last time out, with Karim Benzema and Steven Bergwijn scoring either side of Cristiano Ronaldo to seal the victory in Jeddah last Friday.
However, the RSL Player of the Month went to another Riyadh club, with Al Hilal’s Milinkovic-Savic picking up the prize. The Serbia international, in his second season in the Kingdom, scored three times and registered one assist as the reigning champions remain second in the table, two points behind Al Ittihad.
The pick of Milinkovic-Savic’s goals came in Matchweek 12 against Al Shabab, when he curled home a wonderful free-kick to secure victory in the Riyadh derby. His effort was later voted BSF Goal of the Week.
Elsewhere, Al Qadsiah’s Koen Casteels was awarded a second RSL Goalkeeper of the Month having been integral to his team’s rise to third. The Belgium No.1, who joined the promoted club in the summer, kept three cleans sheets in four wins for Michel’s side, conceding once in total. Casteels leads the league for clean sheets, with eight.
Meanwhile, Al Shabab’s Musab Al Juwayr maintained his stranglehold on Young Player of the Month, with the Al Shabab midfielder featuring in all four league matches during November – including the 2-0 triumph at Al Kholood and the narrow defeat to former club Al Hilal.
