El Chadaille Bitshiabu has committed his long-term future to RB Leipzig, signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

In an official statement on Friday, the Bundesliga side confirmed that the 20-year-old centre-back has put pen to paper on an extension

“I'm really happy to have extended my contract with this fantastic club,” said Bitshiabu, who joined Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain two years ago.

"RB Leipzig provides me with the perfect environment to develop both as a player and as a person. When I moved here in 2023, I could immediately feel how much believed in me. Even during the most difficult times, the management has put their complete faith in me, which has allowed me to establish my place in the starting line-up. As a player, there is no better place to continue on this adventure. I feel right at home here and I am far from done just yet."

RB Leipzig’s managing director for sport, Marcel Schäfer, praised Bitshiabu’s rapid development and underlined the club’s belief in his long-term potential.

“We're delighted to have agreed an early contract extension with Chad, one of the biggest defensive talents in the Bundesliga. He has developed immensely, particularly last season – he has made excellent progress in every area and fully deserves this contract extension,” he said.

"Chad encompasses all the attributed you could want from a modern-day centre-back. He uses his physicality well, he has a high top speed, and he combines technical prowess with resolute tackling. His strong left foot means he can build up the play well too. He has by no means reached his ceiling yet and will no doubt push himself to the next level over the next years with us."
