Birmingham City sign former Charlton Athletic forward McGowan | OneFootball

Birmingham City have completed the signing of former Charlton Athletic forward Teagan McGowan on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues just a short time ago.

McGowan joins Birmingham City upon the expiry of her contract at former club Charlton Athletic. The player has signed a two-year deal at St Andrew’s.

The 20-year-old forward has spent the last two seasons at Charlton Athletic. McGowan’s first year at The Valley was disrupted by an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but she bounced back to star for the team last season as they went close to winning the Barclays Women’s Championship title. McGowan made 19 Barclays Women’s Championship appearances for The Addicks in total while she netted four goals.

After completing her move to Birmingham City, McGowan said “I’m really excited to be here and can’t wait to get started. I feel like the Club have really big ambitions, and a great group of girls. I think I can learn a lot from the players in the group.

“I am very versatile in the forward line, bring skill, but also goals as well.”

McGowan becomes Birmingham City’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
