The asking price from Manchester United may be too big for the Championship leaders.
Leeds United's hopes of landing Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund may prove to be impossible due to financial overlays.
The Premier League giants aren't actively trying to sell the 22-year-old, with Ruben Amorim still seeing potential in the Danish striker, according to TeamTalk.
Additionally, the financial package that would need to be put together to lure Hojlund away from Old Trafford would prove too much for Leeds if they were to be promoted, as their rivals from across the Pennines are looking to avoid making a loss on any of their players if they were allowed to leave.
TeamTalk has reported that Man United striker Rasmus Hojlund "hasn't been on the radar" of current Championship leaders Leeds United as they eye a return to the Premier League.
The report states that Leeds couldn't afford the outlay which Man United would want for the Dane, who many still feel has a lot to prove at Old Trafford.
Man United would not want to operate at a loss, and having signed Hoijlund for up to £72 million after all add-ons are completed, Leeds simply wouldn't have the money to pry Hojlund away from Old Trafford, even if the interest was there.
"Bringing in any money for Hojlund doesn't mean that much if the club is still making a book loss," TeamTalk reports, hence why Anthony was loaned out to Real Betis in January "since that reflects better on the books than a permanent sale."
Like Anthony, a loan move for Hojlund would be more feasible than a permanent sale, but Man United aren't thinking about loaning the Dane out currently, according to TeamTalk.
Ruben Amorim still sees potential in Hojlund. At the age of 22, there is still a belief that Hojlund can live up to his price tag, despite just netting twice in the Premier League this season.
With both Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee fighting for their place to lead the line, and the amount of money they've invested in the duo, it would be premature to think about either leaving just yet.
Therefore, an exit for Hojlund seems incredibly unlikely in the coming summer transfer window, let alone to a Leeds side that seemingly lacks the funds to bring the 22-year-old to Elland Road anyway.
