AC Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada will be travelling to the United States for the final friendly game of the pre-season tour. In other words, he will be watching on from the stands in the Rossoneri’s clash against Barcelona.
Moncada was in Italy during the first two friendlies of the pre-season tour as he needed to work on the mercato. After securing Strahinja Pavlovic, though, the technical director will now join Milan in the States for the final game, according to Luca Bianchin.
The work on the mercato will not stop because of this, it should be noted, instead it will be another opportunity for Moncada to speak with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paulo Fonseca in person. As per the journalist, the current key targets are Youssouf Fofana, Manu Kone, Emerson Royal and Tammy Abraham.
Although the Rossoneri have done well in the US friendlies, winning the first two, it’s clear that some of the aforementioned names are needed to take the squad to the next level. Above all, a defensive midfielder must arrive as Milan only have Ismael Bennacer for that role.
The game against Barcelona is scheduled for Tuesday evening local time and it will be played in Baltimore. Fonseca and his men will be looking to make it 3/3.
