Bayern Munich stormed past RB Leipzig with a 6-star showcase, cruising to a 6-0 victory at the Allianz Arena. Luis Díaz marked his Bundesliga debut with a goal, Michael Olise struck twice, and Harry Kane delivered a brilliant hat-trick, punishing the defensive lapses of Ole Werner’s side and underlining Bayern’s dominance in the title race.
The match began with an early scare for Bayern: in the 6th minute, Leon Goretzka twisted his ankle and it looked like Bayern's injury crisis was about to become an even bigger one - but Goretzka was able to continue with some discomfort.
Bayern’s first real attacking spark came in the 11th minute, when Harry Kane slipped a clever ball through to Konrad Laimer, but his shot was saved. Then Bayern’s attacking machine roared into life. In the 27th minute, Michael Olise opened the scoring with a precise finish, and just five minutes later Luis Díaz doubled the lead (32’).
Leipzig’s back line looked rattled, and when Willi Orbán committed a heavy foul in the 34th minute – flirting with a last-man red card – the visitors’ struggles became clear.
Bayern kept piling on the pressure with fluid attacking play. In the 40th minute, Serge Gnabry’s deflected strike crashed against the crossbar. Only two minutes later, Olise struck again: Gnabry threaded a pass through for his second assist of the night and Olise coolly slotted home for his second goal, making it 3-0 (42’). Leipzig’s defensive shape collapsed far too easily under Bayern’s simple combinations.
Halftime: Bayern Munich 3-0 RB Leipzig.
Leipzig coach Ole Werner reacted at halftime, bringing on Antonio Nusa and Rômulo for Loïs Openda and Yan Diomandé. The substitutes immediately injected more energy, and in the 58th minute Nicolas Seiwald wasted RB’s best chance of the game after a clever through ball from Xaver Schlager. Just three minutes later, Dayot Upamecano’s error inside his own box handed Nusa a golden chance, but the young winger’s effort trickled narrowly wide (61’).
Bayern, however, were just ruthless tonight. In the 64th minute, they launched a rapid counter-attack: Ridle Baku committed a foul on Gnabry, which would have been checked by VAR for a red card - but play continued and Kane clinically finished the move for 4-0.
Leipzig briefly thought they had pulled one back in the 66th minute, when Nusa scored from a tight angle after Rômulo battled Jonathan Tah in the air, but the goal was disallowed due to Castello Lukeba’s irregular free-kick execution in the buildup.
Kompany brought in the highly requested Bayern talent Lennart Karl - even he was able to show his class in the limited time he was allowed to spend on the pitch and his fans were excited to see him get some playing time.
Instead, Bayern sealed the rout. In the 74th minute, Kane unleashed a powerful strike from distance to score his second of the night - his doubters will definitely remain silent after this performance. The 77th minute was the icing on the cake for Bayern and Kane - the Englishman secured his first hat-trick of the season!
Fun fact: Kane has scored 3 or more goals in one game on 8(!) different occasions in his Bundesliga career!
Final result: Bayern Munich 6-0 RB Leipzig.
Díaz's Bundesliga debut goal, Olise’s brace and Kane’s brilliant hat-trick were the highlights of a performance that exposed Leipzig’s defensive frailties and counter-attacking limitations under Ole Werner. While Leipzig’s substitutes offered brief hope, Bayern’s dominance left little doubt: the Rekordmeister sent a resounding message to the Bundesliga with this six-star display.
