Bayern Munich’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements remains firmly in the spotlight, with the Bundesliga club now drawing clear parameters for a potential move for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, according to FCBInside citing Sport BILD.

The German champions have reportedly set their maximum offer for the Colombia international at roughly €60 million plus possible add-ons. Bayern’s interest in Diaz is not new, but sources indicate they have now intensified their approach, especially after missing out on other high-profile targets for the left flank. Despite Liverpool showing no public willingness to sell—the 27-year-old has a contract with the Premier League side until 2027—Bayern are continuing negotiations, banking on Diaz’s openness to the move.

Diaz has, per reports, already conveyed to Bayern that he is ready to make the switch to Munich, providing optimism within the club despite the challenging talks with Liverpool. “We are in negotiations. We will see what can be achieved for ourselves and the club,” Diaz recently stated during an encounter with reporters in Colombia, leaving his decision open but confirming ongoing discussions with multiple sides.

Bayern’s need for a left-sided winger has become urgent following squad exits and uncertainty: Leroy Sané’s departure, persistent question marks over Kingsley Coman’s future, and Jamal Musiala’s injury woes have left the squad undermanned on the flanks. Diaz, long admired in Munich and previously the subject of interest from Barcelona, has risen to the top of Bayern’s shortlist partly because other options have dropped away. Earlier pursuits of Rafael Leao ended after Milan’s hierarchy closed the door on talks, while approaches for targets like Nico Williams and Bradley Barcola also failed due to contract renewals or selling clubs refusing to negotiate.

One notable aspect of Bayern’s position is their willingness to prioritize immediate squad improvement over long-term resale considerations. At 28, Diaz would not offer significant future transfer value, but Bayern’s leadership believes his short-term impact could justify the investment—especially given the financial incentives of success in competitions like the Champions League and Club World Cup.

Internally, there remains a sense of cautious optimism. While Diaz is regarded as one of the club’s top options, and Bayern have maintained dialogue with both the player’s camp and Liverpool, the latter’s stance will be decisive. At present, there has been no indication on Merseyside that Liverpool are ready to part ways, but Bayern are determined to test the situation within their self-imposed financial limits.

As the transfer window continues, Diaz’s future remains unresolved. Bayern’s next steps will hinge on both Liverpool’s response and the player’s own decision, with club officials weighing their urgent sporting needs against fiscal prudence.
