The winter transfer window is just around the corner. Bayern Munich will not do significant business in January as Vincent Kompany is content with the squad. The club chiefs also have no plans to part ways with any senior player during the winter. However, Bayern are open to arranging loan deals with two young players in January.
According to Kicker, Bayern are considering loan moves for Adam Aznou and Mathys Tel when the transfer window opens in the new year. The two youngsters want to stay in Munich and stay with the first team. Die Roten are yet to make a final decision on their immediate futures.
It makes sense for Aznou to prefer staying in Munich until the end of the season. The Moroccan full-back is training and playing with the senior team for the first time this season. Aznou made his debut for Bayern earlier this season under Vincent Kompany. Training with the first team for the entire campaign will be a good learning curve for the youngster.
Tel’s situation at Bayern is slightly different than Aznou's. The French forward has been part of the first team for the last two years. He was a productive option for Thomas Tuchel from the bench last season, scoring 14 goals across all competitions. Die Roten moved swiftly and extended his contract earlier this year amidst interest from Manchester United.
However, things have not gone as planned for Tel since signing a new deal at Bayern. He has struggled to get game time under Vincent Kompany. He has not scored a goal or registered an assist for the Bavarian club this season.
Bayern are eager to send Tel out on loan in order to get consistent playing time during the second half of the campaign. Tel remains eager to stay in Munich, but he may have to consider this option if things don’t improve under Kompany.
The French forward will not be short of options if he decides to leave on loan in January. According to SportBild (via MiaSanMia), Valencia, Werder Bremen, Augsburg, Lazio, and Valencia are showing interest in Mathys Tel. It remains to be seen if Manchester United also reignite their interest in the French forward.
