Bayern Munich have officially announced the departures of Joao Cancelo and Daley Blind.
Cancelo, who was on loan from Manchester City, has returned to his parent club following the conclusion of his loan spell.
During his time at Die Rekordmeister, the Portuguese full-back bagged one goal and six assists in 21 games across all competitions.
However, news broke out in April that Bayern Munich were unwilling to exercise their purchase option, reportedly set at €70 million.
Despite initial suggestions of negotiating a lower fee, the club ultimately wants alternative targets.
Daley Blind’s time at Bayern Munich was uneventful. He made just five appearances, accumulating only 157 minutes on the pitch.
Following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel as the club’s manager in March, he was out of the squad until the end of the season.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Bayern have already set their sights on defensive reinforcements.
The club plans to secure the services of Kim Min-jae. They will activate his €50 million release clause.
The South Korean centre-back will join a backline that includes Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano.
Lucas Hernandez is reportedly on his way to Paris Saint-Germain with the player undergoing medicals.
Bayern will rely on homegrown players Josip Stanisic and Tarek Buchmann in defence.
With Cancelo leaving and Benjamin Pavard trying to do the same, Bayern need a right-back. They are chasing Manchester City defender Kyle Walker.
They are also in the market for a defensive midfielder to partner Joshua Kimmich and want to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to bolster their attack.
