Bayern Munich let the goals fly on Saturday with a 6-1 win on the road to Holstein Kiel.
Scorers: GivoviÄ 82; Musiala 1âČ, Kane 7âČ, 43âČ, 90+1âČ (P), Remberg 13âČ (OG), Olise 65âČ
It was one-way traffic as Vincent Kompanyâs side secured the top spot in the Bundesliga after a dominant showing over the recently promoted hosts.
Bayern grabbed the lead within 14 seconds when Jamal Musiala struck the ball in the net. Only six passes were made in the game, suggesting this could be a long night for Holstein Kiel.
And it was. Harry Kane, who assisted the opener, doubled the lead after a giveaway at the back before Musiala forced a Nicolai Remberg own-goal for 3-0 after 13 minutes.
Kane secured a brace just before the break with a strike from outside the box and the game was virtually over. He now has more than 50 goal contributions in 35 Bundesliga games, breaking Erling Haalandâs previous record.
The hosts surprisingly curbed the attack in the second half which largely could have occurred because Musiala was hauled off. Bayern eventually had a fifth find the back of the net when substitute Michel Olise scored his first for the club off the bench.
Holstein Kiel, however, reminded Bayern of that famous DFB Pokal upset by erasing their clean sheet hopes. Armin GigoviÄ scored a thumping header beyond Manuel Neuer before another attempt hit the woodwork.
A late penalty courtesy of VAR allowed Kane to wrap up the match with his first hat-trick of the season and send Bayern top thanks to RB Leipzigâs draw earlier in the day. Holstein Kiel, meanwhile, sit bottom of the table.
