FC Bayern beat VfB Stuttgart 3-1 to seal three big points in the Bundesliga on Friday night. Angelo Stiller put the home side in front, with Michael Olise levelling the scores before half-time. Leon Goretzka then put Bayern ahead after the hour before Kingsley Coman rounded off the final scoreline.

Bayern started with Manuel Neuer in goal and Konrad Laimer, Eric Dier, Minjae Kim and Alphonso Davies in defence. João Palhinha and Leon Goretzka anchored a midfield featuring Olise, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané, with Harry Kane up front. Coman, Josip Stanišić, Hiroki Ito, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Müller took over from Sané, Laimer, Davies, Olise and Musiala in the second half.

Level at half-time

The first chance fell to Stuttgart when a long ball found the charging Josha Vagnoman, but Neuer was equal to his shot. Olise saw an effort saved before Musiala curled wide in a busy opening period.

Jamie Leweling fired an effort over and Deniz Undav's shot shaved the post, but the hosts took the lead when Vagnoman found ex-Bayern man Stiller, who blasted into the near top corner of the net. Bayern soon upped the ante and Sané saw a free-kick saved before his pinpoint pass invited Olise to level the scores when running in behind shortly before half-time.

Goretzka and Coman complete comeback

Neuer made a strong save against Undav after the restart, but the offside flag went up in any case. Goretzka fired just wide distance and had another effort deflected behind. FCB loanee Alexander Nübel then made a save from Kane, but Goretzka soon won the ball off Stiller on the edge of the box following a goal-kick and slotted home.

Enzo Millot fired over before Coman and Musiala saw shots of their own blocked. Stuttgart went looking for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Munich were solid at the back. Olise made a fine block against Undav and Nübel denied Kane, but Coman put the game to bed when he intercepted a back pass and rounded Nübel to slot home.

The victory takes Bayern onto 61 points from 24 matches, 11 clear of Bayer Leverkusen, who take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The Bavarians will be back in action on Wednesday when they entertain Leverkusen in the Champions League last-16 first leg.
