Bayer Leverkusen are closing in on their next transfer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga club have reached a verbal agreement with PSV to sign Malik Tillman for a reported fee between €35m-€40m. The American will sign a long-term contract with die Werkself.
Eindhovens Dagblad, via Fussball Transfers, report that Bayer Leverkusen have reached the agreement with PSV, but Bayern Munich could yet stand in their way. The Bundesliga champions have a reported buyback clause in the American’s contract at PSV following his permanent transfer last summer, and it’s not yet known whether the Rekordmeister will exercise their option.
The 23-year-old, who was born in Germany but holds American citizenship, scored 12 goals and provided two assists as Peter Bosz’ PSV pipped Ajax to the Eredivisie title. Tillman – who will undergo a medical – will become the latest player to join Erik ten Hag’s side for a fee this summer after Ibrahim Maza (€12m), Mark Flekken (€10m), Abdoulaye Faye (€2.7m) and Tim Oermann (€1.7m) joined the club on permanent deals this summer.
