Barcelona are working to secure the registrations of Gerard Martin, Wojciech Szczesny, and Roony Bardghji ahead of Sunday’s La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano.

The club’s plan is for all three to be available to Hansi Flick for the third league fixture, although there is an order of priority, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Gerard Martin top priority, Szczesny, Bardghji to follow

Indeed, as per the report, the first to be registered will be Gerard Martin, who the club had already hoped to include in the match against Levante last weekend.

With Oriol Romeu’s contract termination already agreed and expected to be announced shortly, the left-back will be able to take that freed-up spot in the salary space.

Next on the list for Barcelona will be goalkeeper Szczesny. Following Inaki Pena’s loan move to Elche, Barcelona currently only have Joan Garcia available in the first-team squad. Szczesny will therefore be registered to provide cover.

The Polish goalkeeper extended his contract with Barcelona for two more seasons, until 2027, after impressing following his arrival as an emergency replacement for Marc-Andre ter Stegen last season.

Finally, attention will turn to Bardghji. The Swedish summer signing’s registration depends on the departure of Hector Fort, who is expected to join Mallorca on loan.

Although Barcelona could have registered the 19-year-old winger as a reserve-team player, the club have chosen to wait and process his licence as a first-team player to avoid any potential issues with La Liga.

There is a feeling that the salary space freed up might not be enough to complete all three player registrations and as such, the Barcelona board is not ruling out the option of offering up more personal guarantees to get the process over the line.
