Barcelona want AC Milan star as their final ‘top-level’ summer signing | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have set their sights firmly on a member of the attacking ranks at Italian counterparts AC Milan.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Rafael Leão as the player in question.

Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements on the left wing, Deco and the Camp Nou brass, it is claimed, have turned their attentions fully towards the Portuguese.

After coming up short in their pursuit of first-choice target Nico Williams, the Blaugrana remain dead set on landing a ‘top-level signing’, to add to Hansi Flick’s options in the final third.

Leão, a long-time favourite of Joan Laporta, is considered the ideal profile, with the 25-year-old’s unpredictability and explosiveness exactly the kind of traits which Barcelona are after.

Striking a deal with AC Milan, it is noted, will not be easy, with the Rossoneri expected to demand a sum in excess of €90 million for their wing wizard.

But the Catalans hope to make use of the funds set aside for Nico, as well as impending sales, and their excellent relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes, to beat the odds before the window slams shut.

It is even suggested that Milan could request some of Barca’s players in part-exchange, a formula which would appeal to the board at the Camp Nou.
