The future of Jules Kounde has become a key talking point in the transfer market lately.
This has come especially on the back of a recent report which indicated that Manchester City and another top club are interested in the services of the Barcelona defender.
Kounde was one of Barça’s most consistent performers last season, firmly establishing himself as one of the best right-backs in La Liga.
Kounde’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with the likes of Man City taking note of displays and even enquiring about his availability this summer.
However, despite the recent links to the Premier League, Fabrizio Romano suggests Barcelona have taken a firm stance on Kounde’s future.

As per the Italian transfer expert, Barça have made it “perfectly clear” that Jules Kounde is not for sale under any circumstances this summer.
The club considers the Frenchman untouchable and an “important element” for sporting director Deco and head coach Hansi Flick alike.
There are no negotiations currently taking place with any club, and Barça have not entertained a single offer for the 25-year-old.
On the contrary, Romano adds that Barcelona are already working behind the scenes on a contract extension for Kounde, and the player’s camp is said to be fully open to talks.
With Flick now taking charge, Kounde is expected to have a more defined role in the team, likely continuing as a right-back, where he delivered consistent performances last season.
This is a strong statement of intent from Barcelona, who appear keen on keeping hold of players who could prove to be great long-term assets going forward. And Kounde is certainly one of them.
