Pablo Torre is one of the players staring at an uncertain future at FC Barcelona, having found minutes extremely hard to come by under Hansi Flick this past season.

Currently away on international duty with Spain at the UEFA U-21 European championship, the youngster’s future will be addressed likely soon after the tournament.

Pablo Torre willing to renew

Providing an update on his situation, Mundo Deportivo reports that while Torre would like to stay and fight for a place under Hansi Flick, he understands that minutes will be limited at Barcelona.

The young midfielder knows a move is necessary and wants to make that decision in full coordination with the club.

Torre has one year left on his current contract, and Barça has outlined a plan for him. The club highly values his profile and intends to offer him a contract extension to retain control over his future.

The preferred route is a loan to a top-level club where he can continue developing while competing in domestic and European competitions.

Torre, for his part, is open to a renewal with the Blaugrana but is not particularly in favour of a loan move, as he believes that the receiving club would often favour players owned outright by them.

The alternative being discussed is a permanent transfer with an affordable buy-back clause. Regardless of the option, Torre wants to ensure first that he will have the trust of the coach at his next destination before choosing the best path forward.

Torre is fully aware of the competition in his position at Barcelona. Players like Dani Olmo, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Pedri all block his way in midfield.

Flick, though, values his qualities and has already informed the club’s directors that he is satisfied with the 22-year-old’s professionalism, attitude, and performance.

Barcelona and the player’s representatives are working to finalise his future, with formal talks expected to begin shortly. What is clear is that Barça does not want to lose him, and Torre is not looking to leave the club environment behind.
