Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo have been instrumental in Barcelona’s flawless start to the season, helping the team secure four wins in four matches.

Yamal, in particular, is now being regarded as one of the best wingers in La Liga. He is also leading the chase for the 2024 Golden Boy Award.

Olmo, too, has been equally productive, racking up two assists, proving to everyone that he was indeed worth his weight in gold when Barcelona signed him in the summer.

Barcelona rejected bumper offer for Yamal

While Barcelona are basking in Yamal’s performances, the club received a lucrative offer to offload their star talent earlier in the summer.

That is according to Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, who has close ties with director Deco and club president Joan Laporta.

Bara revealed that Barcelona had turned down a jaw-dropping €250 million offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Yamal.

“One thing I know for sure is that Barcelona did reject a big offer for Lamine Yamal from PSG some months ago. The deal was worth somewhere around €250m,” said Bara (h/t Podcast Inkubator) in a recent podcast.

It is not too hard to see why PSG were interested in a move for Yamal in the summer. The French giants, after all, were fresh from losing star player Kylian Mbappe and were desperate for a replacement in the market.

PSG ended up signing Desire Doue in their attempt to replace Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

Barcelona, for their part, will not consider offloading Yamal anytime soon. The Spaniard, after all, is regarded as the next big thing in Catalonia, with many expecting him to replace Lionel Messi in the years to come.
