The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona opted to rebuff a record-breaking transfer offer from Paris Saint-Germain prior to the European Championships getting underway.

That’s according to multiple sources in the Spanish media on Wednesday.

The bid in question, unsurprisingly, was forthcoming for Lamine Yamal.

In the midst of nothing short of a historic explosion onto the world stage, at just 16 years of age, wide-man Lamine was evidently identified by the brass at the aforementioned PSG as the perfect replacement for Kylian Mbappé.

The French champions, in turn, moved forward with a jaw-dropping offer worth €250 million, early last month.

Barcelona, however, despite the club’s long-standing financial concerns, did not even think twice about rebuffing PSG’s advances.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, since backed by a number of further sources:

‘The Catalan club, aware that Lamine has to be the key to their project for the next few years, is not even considering giving up its jewel no matter how much money they are offered.’
