The board at La Liga champions Barcelona are ready to reward three members of the club’s defensive ranks with fresh contract terms.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Jules Koundé, Iñigo Martínez and Eric García as the trio in question.
Stoppers Koundé and Iñigo, of course, are fresh off playing starring roles in Barcelona clinching a domestic treble.
Two of the first names on the team sheet of boss Hansi Flick, the Frenchman and Spaniard shone from their respective roles at right-back and centre-back.
Fellow defender Eric, meanwhile, played a less prominent role, but proved his worth time and again late in the season, upon stepping in at right-back to supreme effect.
Also capable of lining out at centre-half and in defensive midfield, the former Girona man is considered an important squad player at the Camp Nou.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of contract talks being readied for all three.
In the case of Iñigo and Eric, as much is considered something of a priority for the months ahead, with both players due to see their deals expire in 2026.
Discussions with Koundé and his entourage will then be pencilled in afterwards, with the ex-Sevilla standout’s contract running through the summer of 2027.
