Barcelona’s January transfer market activity promises to be far more dynamic than expected, now that the club is operating under the 1:1 financial rule.

As such, the possibilities for reinforcements arriving before the end of this month have significantly increased. While numerous players have been offered and others identified as future targets, one name has emerged as a priority: Marcus Rashford.

All-in for Rashford

Indeed, according to SPORT, Barcelona have made a decisive move in the race to sign the Manchester United forward, who appears likely to seek a change of scenery for the second half of the season.

Previously, Rashford was considered just one of many alternatives, but now he has become a very real target with the Catalans ready to make a move. The proposed deal would see him join on loan until June 30.

While in Saudi Arabia, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has been using his time to explore the feasibility of this complex yet achievable operation.

The Portuguese executive has taken advantage of the team’s stay in the Middle East to hold informal meetings with player representatives, both from Barça’s current squad and external targets.

Barcelona must first create some salary space to accommodate Rashford, but the club has multiple options and time to act before the January window closes.

Potential avenues include the departure of players like Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo, or Ansu Fati, as well as income from the potential transfer of former defender Oscar Mingueza, from which Barça would receive 50% of the proceeds.

Rashford has struggled to connect with Manchester United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, leading him to seriously consider leaving Old Trafford this January.

The England international has been barely seen in the United lineup for the past month and reportedly has multiple offers as he contemplates his future.
