According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco met with super agent Jorge Mendes for a dinner meeting to discuss upcoming transfer moves.
The gathering took place on July 16, a day that also marked an important moment for the club as Lamine Yamal was officially handed the iconic number 10 shirt.
While Yamal’s ceremony was held earlier in the day at the club’s facilities, the dinner meeting with Mendes happened later in the evening at a restaurant in the city.
According to sources, the discussions focused exclusively on potential new signings, not on Yamal’s future. The young forward was not present at the meeting, as he was resting ahead of the following day’s training session.
One of the players who came up during the talks was Denzel Dumfries, the Inter Milan right-back represented by Mendes.

Dumfries is expected to leave Inter this summer, and Barcelona have been linked to him in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their defensive options.
Meanwhile, the outlet affirms that joining Laporta and Deco at the meeting were Alejandro Echevarria and Bojan Krkic, who now works in the club’s sporting department.
On Mendes’ side, he was accompanied by his close associate Sergio Alves, who played a key role in bringing both Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo to Barça in the past.
Mendes continues to be one of Barcelona’s most trusted contacts in the transfer market. Known for his ability to negotiate difficult deals, especially in tight financial situations, the Portuguese agent has often helped the Catalan club close last-minute moves.
With the transfer window in full swing, more developments between Mendes and Barcelona are expected in the coming weeks.
