Barcelona reportedly want to take Marcus Rashford on loan, but Manchester United are hoping to sell the outcast on a permanent basis.
The forward is persona non grata at Old Trafford after falling out with Ruben Amorim last season, leading to him being sent out on loan to Aston Villa in January.
Rashford enjoyed a good half-season spell at the Midlands outfit, registering ten goal involvements before his campaign was cut short by injury.
Despite his performances, which earned Rashford an England recall from Thomas Tuchel in March, he is unlikely to play again for United, who want to offload the attacker this summer.
Villa hold an option to buy Rashford for £40 million, a price the Red Devils have made available to all potential suitors.
Barcelona are “prepared” to make a loan bid for the 27-year-old – even if they sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club de Bilbao, according to The Times.
Williams plays on the left wing, the position in which Rashford prefers to operate. The Catalan club already own left winger Raphinha, who enjoyed an excellent season on the flank during their double-winning campaign.
Hansi Flick is said to be a fan of Rashford and could deploy him as a no.9 as cover for Robert Lewandowski, who will turn 37 years of age in August.
Only last week Rashford said he would love to play alongside teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. “Everyone in the world wants to play with the best, so hopefully [it will happen]. We will see.”
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that a “deal (is) in place” for Ansu Fati to join Monaco on loan next season. The 22-year-old will travel to the principality for on Wednesday and undergo a medical later this week. He has agreed to sign new terms and the deal includes an option to buy.
