Barcelona pair called up to Catalan national team | OneFootball

Two players on the books of La Liga giants Barcelona have today been afforded call-ups for duty with the Catalan national team.

The pair in question? Oriol Romeu, and Eric García.

Midfielder Romeu has of course endured a difficult campaign in Barcelona’s colours, struggling to convince since his arrival from Girona last summer.

Defender García, on the other hand, has shone bright across a season-long loan stint with Girona, establishing himself as one of Spanish football’s standout stoppers.

Both, though, have nevertheless on Thursday been selected for duty with the Catalan national team.

The Catalans are set to return to action next Wednesday, May 29th, in a friendly meeting with central American nation Panama.

And Romeu and García will both be expected to play their part, alongside former Blaugrana stars Héctor Bellerin, Óscar Mingueza, Arnau Tenas and more.
