The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have had their attentions piqued by the latest developments behind the scenes at German counterparts Bayern Munich.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards as much as having come owing to a twist in the future of Leroy Sané.

Wide-man Sané, for his part, has long been locked in negotiations with the board at the Allianz Arena, over extending his contract terms ahead of their expiration in the summer.

What was previously considered a foregone conclusion in an agreement being reached, however, has now been thrown firmly up in the air.

As per Sport, citing sources in Germany:

‘When everyone took his renewal by Bayern for granted after long negotiations, the footballer has decided to break off contacts and has changed his representation agency.’

Not only that, but Sané has opted to sign with Pini Zahavi, an agent with close ties to the aforementioned Barcelona, who also acts as the representative for both Hansi Flick and Robert Lewandowski.

Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements out wide for next season, Deco and the transfer team at the Camp Nou are in turn said to have their interest piqued.
