The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to shift focus towards deals for another pair of transfer targets, following Nico Williams’ decision to reject the club.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The name of wide-man Nico has of course taken its place at the forefront of the headlines in Barcelona across the day to date.

Unfortunately for the Blaugrana, however, as much comes for altogether different reasons to what they had hoped.

As confirmed by way of a sudden statement released across Athletic Club’s website and social media platforms, Nico has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract in Bilbao.

So, where do Barca, left nothing short of shocked by Nico’s decision, go from here?

As alluded to above, an insight into as much has this afternoon been forthcoming, courtesy of Mundo Deportivo:

‘Barça’s Plan A remains Luis Díaz. But since the aforementioned Plan A isn’t easy financially and also because of Liverpool’s current situation (the sudden passing of Diogo Jota), there’s also a Plan B: Marcus Rashford.’
