The Xavi Simons saga has paused after Paris Saint-Germain loaned the player to RB Leipzig for the 2024-25 season. Over the summer transfer window, the 21-year-old was linked to Bayer Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United, among the clubs reportedly keen on him.

However, the player and PSG went with the short-term solution and will need to figure out a long-term fix for his future in 2025. Nonetheless, one of the clubs that will definitely be back for Simons is Bayern Munich.

According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Tobi Altschäffl and Christian Falk, as shared by the Twitter account @iMiaSanMia, Simons could be the next João Palhinha in the sense that the club will make another attempt to sign him.

The report notes that Bayern Munich club chief Max Eberl is expected to pursue him again. A move for Simons from the Bavarian side makes sense after they lost out on Désiré Doué, who chose PSG over the German club.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting whether Barcelona or Manchester United get back in the race next summer to challenge Bayern Munich for the high-profile youngster.

While on loan at RB Leipzig last season, Simons made a strong impression by playing in 43 matches across all competitions. He scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists, which caught the attention of several Premier League clubs.
