Barcelona leave Serie A star disappointed with transfer stance | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona have this summer left Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries altogether disappointed.

This comes after the Blaugrana opted against moving forward with a move for his signature.

The name of wing-back Dumfries of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.

This came after widespread reports were forthcoming, suggesting that Deco and co. were giving real consideration to a move for the Dutchman’s signing.

Dumfries’ Inter Milan release clause was slashed to just €25 million this month, making him something of a market opportunity.

And if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then it would appear that the 29-year-old was more than keen on the prospect of a Camp Nou switch.

As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport:

‘The footballer’s intention was to change scenery and his priority was to be able to sign for Barça.’

It is also noted that the Barcelona hierarchy ‘studied the move carefully’, but were ultimately unable to put in place the financial requirements to strike a deal.
