Barcelona in ‘serious’ danger of losing talented midfield starlet | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are sweating over the future of a leading member of the club’s youth ranks.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Aleix Garrido as the player in question.

Garrido, for those not familiar with his name, is a 21-year-old midfielder, who has long been held in high regard behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The Spaniard spent this past season acting as captain for Barca Atlètic, racking up 25 league appearances, and chipping in with a pair of goals along the way.

The Barcelona reserve team’s eventual relegation, however, has thrown the future of Garrido, and others, into serious doubt.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, ahead of the expiration of his Blaugrana contract at the end of the month, it is looking increasingly likely that Garrido will bring a close to his chapter with the club this summer:

‘The captain of the Barça reserve team’s contract expires in a couple of weeks, on June 30, 2025, and he has yet to renew, so his future is up in the air and he may be more likely to be away than in Barça.’
