La Liga giants Barcelona are moving towards a completed deal for one of the standout up-and-coming talents in South America.

That’s according to Marca, who highlight Zé Lucas as the player in question.

Zé Lucas, for his part, is a 17-year-old midfielder, who generally operates in a deep-lying role.

Despite his tender years, the Brazilian – a captain at youth level for the Seleção – is already a regular at senior level for Sport Recife.

And his efforts since breaking through into a first-team role have long culminated in excitement mounting surrounding Zé Lucas’ talents.

So much so that, as alluded to above, the starlet has piqued the attentions of one of world football’s most recognisable clubs.

In fact, the outfit in question, in Barcelona, are understood to be closing on an imminent deal for Zé Lucas.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Barcelona are in advanced talks to sign one of the best talents of the new generation of Brazilian football: Zé Lucas. The dialogue between the parties has evolved significantly in recent weeks, and a positive outcome is expected soon.’
