Barcelona’s efforts to register players for the upcoming 2025/26 season have hit a slight delay, as reported by SPORT.
The club had hoped to complete all formalities before the Joan Gamper Trophy, but that timeline has now shifted to next week due to pending paperwork.
Still, there is no panic at the club, with full confidence that all necessary registrations will be finalised before their La Liga opener against Mallorca on August 16.
The main reason behind the delay is the ongoing audit being carried out by Crowe Spain. Barcelona are still waiting for the final report, which is essential for La Liga to validate their financial operations and re-enable the 1-1 rule.
Currently, five players are waiting to be registered, namely, Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghji, Gerard Martin, and Wojciech Szczesny.

The delay in Crowe’s audit means the club must now wait a few more days before sending the final documents to La Liga.
Sources within the club have made it clear that the delay is not due to any financial instability, but rather due to a few final details being reviewed in the audit.
One key element under consideration is the 30-year transfer of 475 VIP seats at the Spotify Camp Nou to two external companies, a move expected to bring in €100 million. This deal is crucial for the club to operate under La Liga’s 1-1 rule.
Despite the delay, the atmosphere within the club remains calm. Barcelona are fully confident that La Liga will validate the VIP seat deal and that all five players will be registered in time for the season’s start.
The club also remains optimistic about registering Joan Garcia, regardless of the unresolved situation with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Barça believe that once the audit is approved and La Liga gives the green light, there will be enough financial margin to complete all necessary registrations swiftly.
