Barcelona boss Flick provides Alejandro Balde injury update before Real Madrid clash | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of defensive star Alejandro Balde.

This of course comes after the Spaniard, just last weekend, was condemned to an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Afforded a starting berth in Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Leganés, Balde was hooked late in the first-half, after going to ground with a muscular concern.

As much was later confirmed to be a hamstring injury, with the 21-year-old having missed the Blaugrana’s midweek clash with Borussia Dortmund as a result.

Amid a crucial stretch of the campaign for Hansi Flick’s side, though, when can they expect to have the club’s first-choice left-back on the pitch again?

Speaking to the media on Friday, Barca’s boss was drawn on precisely as much.

Asked directly whether Balde could be available for selection for next week’s Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, Flick explained:

“We’ll have to see how his recovery progresses day to day. I’m not sure. We’ll have to wait and see.”
