Barcelona are now actually concerned about Gavi’s new knee injury | OneFootball

The recent news concerning Gavi is genuinely troubling for FC Barcelona. Initial reports claimed that the player was injured during a training session, but that the problem was not that serious. Unfortunately, more recent updates have not been as optimistic.

Recently, it was reported that the player’s injury was more serious than initially expected. As a direct consequence of that, the Spanish midfielder was ruled out for the upcoming game against Rayo Vallecano and a doubt for Spain in the upcoming international break.

Barcelona now seem to be concerned

Unfortunately, however, the latest update from Javi Miguel is genuinely worrying. As per the journalist, Barça is not hiding its concern regarding the player’s current situation and that is not good news at all.

It would appear that the problem is indeed a serious one, and it is perhaps even more concerning due to the fact that the 21-year-old player has injured the same knee in which he previously suffered an ACL injury as well. As a result of this, the club needs to be extremely cautious.

Set to miss Rayo clash and the international break

Moreover, the update confirms that the player will not be playing against Rayo Vallecano and neither will he travel with the Spanish National team during the upcoming international break. Despite being one of the seven Barça players to be called up, Gavi now looks set to miss out on that great opportunity.

It remains to be seen what further tests confirm, but things do not look too good at the moment. Unfortunately for Barça and Gavi, the timing of this injury is certainly not doing them any favours at all.
