Earlier this week, the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE) put out a statement criticising La Liga’s decision to relocate the league game between Villarreal and Barcelona to Miami, USA, later this year.

The decision has been met with a lot of opposition and criticism from several other La Liga clubs and other figures from the footballing fraternity.

And, AFE, too, voiced their concerns about the idea, with their statement and letter being signed by all La Liga club captains.

And, Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen, currently sidelined with an injury, was among those who signed the statement.

Now, according to RAC1, Barcelona are again upset with Ter Stegen over his decision to sign the statement along with other La Liga captains, positioning themselves against playing the Villarreal game in Miami.

The Blaugrana believe that Ter Stegen should not have done so because it contradicts the club’s interests, and as such, are not happy with his action.

This comes on the back of a turbulent summer for the veteran goalkeeper, during which his relationship with Barcelona has experienced a lot of ups and downs.

After all, Ter Stegen was suspended from captaincy responsibilities by Barça after his initial refusal to sign the permit to share his medical reports with La Liga so that his long-term absence could be used to register another player.

Eventually, the player and the club buried the hatchet, and Ter Stegen gave the green light for his medical reports to be shared while he was reinstated as club captain.

Now, though, it appears that the 33-year-old has managed to upset Barcelona in a different way.
