Barcelona and Nike have revealed the club’s new jersey for the forthcoming 2023/2024 season.
The official unveiling of the jersey will take place on Thursday, June 15, under the concept ‘Here, to lead the way.’
Adhering to their traditional style, the Spanish heavyweights have maintained a familiar aesthetic, as announced on the club’s website.
However, the Blaugrana proudly emphasise a subtle element that resonates with their indomitable spirit of innovation, setting this kit apart from all previous Barca jerseys – a diamond framing the club badge.
The newly-crowned La Liga champions insist that the diamond is a symbolic embodiment of the first women’s team ever to partake in a football match at Camp Nou.
Its radiant presence serves as a homage to the ‘pioneering spirit’ of the women’s supporters’ club, established in 1971.
The tale unfolded in 1970 when Inma Cabeceran composed a letter addressed to Agustí Montal i Costa, the Barcelona president at the time.
In her correspondence, she proposed the inception of a women’s football team, ultimately leading to a ceremonial match played behind closed doors at Camp Nou.
Spotify remains a front-of-shirt-sponsor for the men’s and women’s teams, with its stamp conveniently located on the front, alongside the Nike logo.
The Ambilight TV and Bimbo brands will be displayed on the sleeves of the men’s and women’s first team jerseys, respectively, with the UNHCR/ACNUR logo featuring above the number on the back of the shirt.
Tech-wise, Nike Football has revolutionised its latest collections by incorporating cutting-edge innovation, placing a strong emphasis on sustainability to enhance athletes’ performance.
Meticulous research conducted by the design teams has led to the creation of an exceptional kit crafted with Dri-FIT ADV technology, granting athletes unparalleled freedom of movement.
Furthermore, more than 75% of all Nike Football apparel is now composed using 100% recycled polyester, allowing football enthusiasts to support their teams while actively reducing their environmental footprint.
